ORIGINAL: adrenaline

If I could add a little: the 22.250 will kill a hog, but I wouldn't want to count on it. Yes, if it's place in the ear, but how many guys can guarantee a shot like that when you really need to....? It might be ok if it's for a back-up, but most hog hunters I know will insist on a minimum of a .270 for a single shot kill, and most are using a .308, 30.06, 30.30 (where the vegetation is thick) and so on. Just my two cents. Good luck.
I will respectfully disagree. Ive never seen a hog shot with a 22-250 do anything more than if shot with a 30-06 or a 300. Actually, ive had hogs shot with my 300wby run further than ones ive shot with a 30-30. And im speaking of lung/heart shots, not head shots. Ive had these things all over my land since they found their way to Texas. I could shot one a day if I wanted. Most "hog hunters" blow the hogs ability out of porportion. Heck, the last 15+ hogs ive shot have been with a slow recurve bow that is 50lbs at 28 inches.
