I used to have a red dot... and after a TSA inspector apparently messed with it and left it on and I landed in Amarillo, TX at 2am with no way to sight my gun... I took it off and left it off.

I use a Nikon standard fixed reticle scope. 2-7x32... I leave it on 2x. Works great... no batteries to die or to remember to turn on.
