Default RE: Both eyes open, Or 1 closed?

ORIGINAL: Rickmur

How do you look through a little round hole (the peep) that is very close to one eye and see through it with both eyes? Or do you learn to fixate one eye with the peep and the other on the target? If you hav'nt guessed by now I shoot with one eye closed.
Rick,

That's how I do it. I have no trouble keeping both my eyes open. I can concentrate on my peep alignment and shot locationwith the aiming eye andstill keep the other eye open and looking at the target as well. It also helps with (for me) to see the target better in low light.

It's the same as you would shooting a pistol or abird gun, keep both eyes open.

The only time I'll close one eye is when I'm shooting my rifle (scoped or iron sights) but that's ONLY AFTER I've acquired my target.
