Those are some beautiful bucks. I love the symmetry and height of the one in the truck. What a beautiful animal.

As for the quality of NJ's herd, it wasn't always that way. NJ is not much unlike PA in that they have some good genetics and being that it's the garden state they can provide the food, but the age structure was all messed up. A lot of 1.5 and 2.5 year old deer, but not many older ones. This is how it was when I first started hunting there. They had just implemented antler restrictions in some zones and earn-a-buck across the state. Now with a better balanced buck to doe ratio and some bucks making it through to get older NJ has some slammer spots. My one buddy consistently sees and has been getting 3.5 year old and older deer.

I believe that most states could produce very nice deer if the age structure was there. Maybe not deer that would crack world records, but certainly 140" older deer.
