chronagraph it and see how close to 4250 it is. all that speed does is burn the throat out faster, there is no better varmint rifle than a fast twist 223, one of the few factory loaded varmint cartridges that have taken varmints beyond 1000 yards, the farthest recorded kill with a 223 was made on a prairie dog at 1,115 yards.

I'll second that. My .223 has a 1:9" twist, and it has yet to disappoint me.
