Well, we got 3 HNI'rs together for a littel 3D'n this afternoon. Missing were tkycaller, PA Hardwoods, Twildson, M/Hensler for starters LOL Hopefully we'll get everyone together soon.
BPBowhunter, bowtechben and myself joined my friend Nate and Ben's buddies Doug and Mike for a little 3D action indoors. There was an outside shoot today but man, it's so cold and very high winds so....we pussed out and went indoors.
We put a little bet on the shoot today. Everyone chipped in 2 dollars. We figured we pay out two places, 1st and 4th so we had two flights. A little chance to get back a few dollars and make it interesting. AND Right before we started my buddy Nate handed me $5 and said, that's a side bet between you and I. Agreed.
We didn't count 12's except for tie breakers as there we some with center twelves, the majority with ASA twelves.
For the over half the targets, Nate was leading us. He was nailing every ten ring and I floated a couple out high. I wasn't not sure why I was shooting high all of a sudden, it's not the bow but I was pushing it off or something. I ended Harrisburg with high out of the ten ring shots and it followed me today. It didn't take me long to figure it out, calm down, relax and shoot. The tens started lining up.
Brian, (BPBowhunter) was starting to find the ten rings too. This was Brians very first 3D shoot of anykind. I was hoping he was having a good time. Ben (bowtechben) and his two buddies were shooting ahead of us as a group.
Here's Ben coming off the range:
Nate and Brian (BPBowhunter) pulling arrows and recording the arrows:
Ben (bowtechben), Nate and BPBowhunter:
This little piggy hid behind the log. There were a pile of broken off arrows, points and inserts in that log...LOL [8D] Our arrows missed the log and found foam.
This stinker was shot from the opposite corner. You plug him in before heading to the second floor platform as he sits there and spins. Not only do you have to shoot the distance, you have to shoot the correct area and time it as he the score rings come around. You can shoot him on either side or right up the tail.
And a flock or turkeys to finish off the round:
As it turns out, the standing were as follows:
Rob 1st and $11.00 richer.
Nate 2nd
bowtechben 3rd.
Doug 4th and $6 richer
BPBowhunter 5th
Mike finishing up the team.
I had a great time again guys. I'm hoping over time we'll find a few more guys who might want to join us and as the temperature and weather turnes better we'll get outside and have a good time too. I enjoyed it very much Brian and Ben. I'll give you guys a holla when we do it again. I'm assuming next Sunday would be good again. tkycaller, Matt, Tim, Chad, and anyone else if in the area and interested, look us up.
