RE: Where should hunting be headed?
Animal herds should be managed for the health of the herd, not for trophies, not for high populations, not for hunter success, but for the health of the animal and the environment.
That said, hunting going forward is moving quickly to be to expensive to hunt "somewhere else". Tags are going upwards towards $1000, outfitters are going up (though much of this is their expenses going up while some is supply/demand).
I'd like to see a few changes:
- shouldn't be required to have an outfitter to hunt anywhere.
- some sort of cap on out of state license tag fees
- B&C and P&Y books remove the names of the hunters
- more youth programs
