Well, I am going back to aluminum this year. I've done the light/fast/carbon thing for a few years now, and don't have anything against it, it has it's advantages. I just want to change things up a bit, and after shooting these lincoln log X7's......I REALLY like how hard they hit, and they are forgiving. Suddenly my X count shot up, wonder why??

So anyway, I'm wanting to shoot an aluminum w/ a finished weight around 500 grains ( I still shoot those 282 fps ) and I will be dipping and cresting them. That's where I'm looking for ideas. I know I want them dipped white, and I will be using 4" feathers, 2 flo orange and 1 barred white....
I'm looking for ideas on a cresting pattern, so if any of you have crested arrows, post them up. Even if you have wraps that are in the tradtional crested pattern, I'm interested in seeing them. Don't worry, I won't copy them, I just want some ideas. Thanks.
WHAT?!?!? All this coming from the guy that STARTED the 97 page debate stating how "he" would take the lighter, faster arrow over more KE? You kill me Don, one, small, breath at a time. I love it!

But please be aware... my Axis 340's are heavy, provide excellent penetration, and are indeed... carbon.
Oh, I know dude, I know.....I've still got no problem w/ light/fast/carbon arrows.....not at all. But dude, check this out....I'm going to shoot a 470 grain 2413 xx75 in the neighborhood of 290 fps, and 87 pounds of KE.....oh..........my..............god!!......I started shooting lincoln log 2613 x7's, and I can't believe how quiet that bow is, and hey....I can actually hit what I aim at now!!
You know this is just all in preparation of me kicking your ass at the smackdown this summer, right?? You beat me last year youngster, but not this year!! Muahahahahahahaha....
Actually, it's to satisfy my inquentiable desire to tinker with stuff, figure out what makes it tick. It's how I learn. I HAVE to mess with it..my brain is like a sponge, absorbing everything and anything archery.
You know, I'm actually beginning to think that one really isn't better than the other, just different. It just depends on what your goals are.
ps...you think this one will go 97 pages????
