Out to 300 yds the 223 will be fine. Its after this distance that 22-250 would outshine the 223. Ammo is a bit cheaper for the 223, but it depends on how much you shoot. If you only shoot 2 or 3 boxes of ammo in a year, it wont be to hard on the wallet. If you plan on shooting 10 boxes of ammo, the 223 will save you a chunk of change.
