If your shooting trap, the 870 with a 28" - 30" barrel works great.

The problem with an inexpensive over and under is that the break open actions can be difficult to open and shut. Hard and the hands and wrist.

For sporting clays, semi-auto'sor agood o/u seem to work out nice. I have a hard time finding the second clay with a pump. I just got a benelli M2 for this event.
