Default RE: teflon tape on breech plug is a necessity

Use what works, I hear the tape helps with any blowback. Is that true or have you noticed any diffrence?
That's exactly what my problem was/is with that rifle. With lube only the dirt is blowing back about 3/8 - 1/2" into the threads (first 5 or 6 thread look burned & dry). Then I have a ring of crud & dirt with 5 or 6 dry threads in front of it and it locks up as I back it out. The plug breaks loose easily, buta turn or two and it locks up.With the tape in the threads and also hanging out in front of the plug it seals the threads and prevents most ofthe blowback. After a long shooting session the first thread or two may be dry and dirty, but there's nothing to lock it up after I start backing it out.
