RE: Turkey HB
I've taken 2 turkeys with my X-bow. First one was with a 100 grain 3-bladed Thunderhead and took 2 shots to kill it. Second was with a mechanical (can't remember the brand) and took 1 shot, although the turkey took a couple minutes to die.
They are EXTREMELY tough animals, and shooting them with arrows is a dicey proposition at best. I also hit a turkey (with a 100 grain Rockethead mech) in the breast 2 years ago and never recovered it. I'm not trying to talk you out of it (I still use my X-bow for turkey), I'm just saying you have to make a perfect shot to kill them quickly. The vital zone is baseball - softball sized, and many people don't know where to aim.
I think you would be better off with a mechanical that has at least 1.5" cutting diameter - gives you a little more room for error. Slicks really shine when it comes to penetration, and this isn't really an issue with turkey. Although if you slicks group tight with your bow setup, I'm sure they will do fine if your shot placement is on. Make sure you do some research and find out exactly where to aim on a turkey to hit the vitals.
