Played with some CB's yesterday!
Well yesterday I made it to SLC, UT and visited the Sportsman's Warehouse store. I was surprised to see how many crossbows they had there. To my biggest surprise they had a Ten Point mid-top of the line, cant remember the exact model, and the Stryker. I was super impressed with both. Really liked the way the STR shoulderd and felt. It was a bit heavier than the 10pt but not by much. The 10pt had a cool scope on it and looked very nice all camoed upand the price was near half of the STR. The only thing I didnt like on the 10pt was the box for the cocking mechanism pressed into my cheek which didnt have as natural of a feel to me as the STR. It's going to be a hard decision on these things.
The local guru said they had been quite surprised at how many of the Stryker's they have sold. He said that at first they did have some problems and thinks most of it was due to trying to speed them out the door to meet initial demand which exceeded what Bowtech thought by a bunch. Now though he said they have been proving to be very reliable and praised Bowtech for how well they are standing behind them. He also said there were no negatives with the Ten Point models either and they had been really good to deal with any issues. I asked him which one he would buy and he said you cant go wrong with either and to go with the one that best meets your budget and feels like it fits you best.
He said he had heard talk that WY was going to change some of there laws for archery this year along with some of them regarding crossbows. Will deffinatly look into that and will report anything I find.
They didnt have any Desert Strykers in yet, but said they were coming. Does anyone know if there is a cocking mechanism that will work on the D.Stkr?
