Unless you have failing eyesight I really don' t see the need for optics. If you know where your pattern shoots then the bead system should be enough to kill a tom out to the " magical" 40 yards. I personally like them to be within the 30 yard range and you surely don' t need optics for this close. Just too much extra to mess with for me.
