2x things you can do. First of all, don't put the fletch the whole way into the clamp. Leave 1/8" between the base of the vane, and the clamp. When you put the clamp on, push down evening out the surface.
Also, you can fold up a piece of paper and put it like a shim between the top of the clamp and the shaft. This will even things out nicely.
