Every one I know who fitted after-market sights to their shotgun just fit them behind, but against the front bead. You're after accuracy, but still you're not trying to shoot the peter off a 'skeeter at 300 yards. The difference made by loosing a 1/2" or so of distance between front and rear should be neglegible (in this application).
