Being in law enforcement I have personally seen some pretty bad scumbags come back to be great human beings. And then some that just keep going down the road because all they know is jail or prison and need the structure that jail and prison give them. This is a double edge sword no matter how you slice it, and I would have to agree that I think there should be a waiting period and if you show that you can function in the public and behave then you should be able to earn back your prevledge's.
