Default End Compound Bow Use Before The Rut

Get a load of this guy! And I quote from Wisconsin News Magazine-

I would like to congratulate Tom Coon on his buck. He killed it with a " real" bow- a recurve. I' m congratulating Tom because it gets alittle frustrating seeing so many big bucks being killed by socalled " bow" hunters. There should be a qualification to their kill and that is that they used a compound bow, which is closer to a shotgun and slugs than it is to a recurve or long bow.

I have nothing against bow hunting, but the season length was initally designed for the recurve and long bow. The compound should be limited, just as the rifle is limited. It is too effective of a weapon to go under the guise of a " bow." Give compound users a season until about Oct. 25- then it is anterless until the rifle season or after the rifle season.

The guys name is Michael Cole of Wisconsin Rapids

I have a suggestion for Mr. Cole, if the recurve and long bow are not very effective, maybe we should outlaw them, arent we suppose to take every available means to harvest an animal quickly and humainly with the weapon WE CHOSE, I get the feeling that Mr. Cole isnt very good with the " bow" he picked to use.
I personally use both long bow and compound, I can hit a deer with either one. It depends on how I feel that day on which one I will use.
He compares the compound bow to a shotgun, yes thats right a shotgun, whatever, I' m not even going to comment on that stupidity.
He also says the original season was set up for long and recurve bows, not compounds- the season was set up for archery hunting (this means bows too Mr. Cole if you did' nt know that). Back then compounds were not widly used, only because they were more widely produced latter (if you did' nt know that either Mr. Cole). It is called technology.
I could continue on talking about what a dipstick this guy is, but unlike him I would like to see ALL hunters get along, no matter how they pursue their intended meal.
If anybody knows Mr. Cole thank him for giving more ammo to the antis.

I would like everyone to respond to this no matter what your side, I will be writting a response to Mr. Coles letter in the next issue of Wisconsin News.
