Default RE: The Next Typical World Record?

Rob, I think we've told you the story, but... when Matt was here, we made our ritualistic stop at the convenience store on the way home from one of the farms we hunt. We pulled up behind a late-model Chevy and spotted tines sticking up inside the cab.

"Look at that," Matt said... "Looks like a nice one."

We walk on inside to grab some stuff to munch on for the ride home, and I overhear a couple camo-clad guys sitting at one of the tables talking about deer; I ask him if that's his truck, and if he would mind if we just peeked in the window as we'd noticed the nice rack when pulling up behind it. He proceeds to get up and tell us that he'd just show it to us... We follow him to his truck and he unlocks the door, reaches in and pulls out the most massive rack either Matt or me has ever seen in person. It wasn't that he was that massive... though he did carry nice mass. What he was though was possessing some of the tallest tines we'd ever seen on a beautiful typical frame.

We asked him what he scored, and I think he said he was 204... gross.Netted in the 180s... Something crazy like 16-17" tines all the way around -- except he was missing a matching G4 or something like that. Almost no deductions other than that.

Now think about that... if he'd had grown that one tine -- add another 16" to that score on a typical frame, and we'd have been staring at the next world record right then. The really cool thing? I see that guy there every single night that his girlfriend works there... 60-70 times a year. We know he's hunting close to there ... and that means he'shunting close to where we're hunting.
