Default RE: What are the benifits of a drop away rest?

Drop-aways claim to fame is fletching clearance. People who can' t get fletching clearance with any other type of rest will probably see an improvement in accuracy. If you can get clearance with any of the other type of rests (as proved with a powder test) you probably won' t see any improvement. Maybe less. I saw a slo-mo video of the drop aways one time that showed that they were inconsistant with the amount of time they stayed up before they droped away (I don' t remember which rests were used). The nodes of the arrow were affected by this which caused a little inconsistancy. They are accurate enough for some people but, not for others. You' ll have to make your choice.
