Not many weighing in from WI here....
I think we got 3 already including myself
I feel very strongly:
1. Issue everyone a permanent plastic card with magnetic or digital capability, and all your license info is on there. Like a credit card. Wardens would have a card reader, (they already have a computer in their car anyway) deer check stations would have a card reader.... Do away with the stupid back tags!!@!!, paper licenses, stupid cumbersome registration.... hello its the 20th century.
Great idea
2. Condense the management units. By about 30%.
Agreed. Even better, keep things simple and divide DMU's by county
4. Stop having separate tags for gun and bow. Have one deer license, you can hunt either or both seasons/weapons, but only one buck and does as allowed. Pay one time for deer license, then kill as many as you want or are allowed. No extra fees for doe tags, just bag limits per management unit.
The state will never do this because they'd be losing lots of money unless they combined the cost of the bow and gun licenses i.e. 24+24=48 then they'd have to factor in the average doe tags purchased each year. You now have a license that's 60-70 bucks for resident and probably 200 for non-resident. It'll only discourage people and probably result in more poaching. I think you should pay for what you want toget.
5. Nix the whole CWD program. They've had CWD out west for 20+ years, hasn't affected their hunting at all.
agreed with doing away with disease eradicationattempts. $30+million and counting. Results - 0 and counting
7. Ban all baiting and feeding forever, period.
agreed also, but will neverhappen.
