Default RE: My First FOX!!!

hey, have you tried howling, about this time of year female howls,or just interogation howls work good for me on up til march or april, then I quit until august til the pups are big enough to care for themselves, every now and then you can get them to howl back, this is rare here in the east, but occasionally they will.Howl to them just after dark, that way you can pinpoint their location, then sneak into that area the next morning, when it gets light enough to see start with a low volume distress call,I like a rabbit sound,if you have no takers,do an interogation howl or two, dont over howl most of the time coyote's round here dont howl back in daylight,be patient then go back to the rabbit in distress for a couple of minutes louder than before, then wait I killed a nomad that had been kicked out of the pack onetime about 30 minutes after I had quit calling,I usually wait this long before I get up and move because all my farms are 15 to 55 miles apart so it's hard for me to run and gun.Just hang in there and make sure there are coyotes near where you are calling from, they can here a mouse squeak over 200 yards away, see a field mouse jump at 300 yards, but I have seen them come through the woods just outside of bow range and not even turn their head while your kissing at them, keep trying you'll get one!!!
