Control group was the older bucks.

Experimental group was all other age groups of bucks.
They tagged them all and followed them each under the same conditions and then compared the two?? vs control groups of the same age structures with no outside interference?

Absolutely............data is useless otherwise. I can show you countless "studies" that if just read on the surface would have you believe something that isn't true. The key is understanding and validating the data........otherwise it's just a nice story.

Just asking.........I haven't read it yet. It may be a fine study, I hope there is much more info then what you have said here though.
