RE: Mature Buck food for thought
I have read the past 5-10 years worth of issues from all the major mags (and not so major), N. A. Whitetail, Deer & Deer hunting, Bowhunter, Outdoor Life, North American Hunter, Field and Stream, FFG, Petersons Hunting, etc....
No offence to those who read them, but have you all noticed most regurgitate the same info every year and on a seasonal basis in regard to hunting strategies and specifically deer behavior? It is good for beginners but after a while you just have to start using your own head. For instance, the noted "shift" in mature bucks core areas over the course of a year. It doesn't take a brain surgen to realise a mature buck will move according to food, weather, etc. Everything is a creature of its environment. Identify that and you are well on your way to outsmarting whatever you are after.
