I love my 870 sps-t it has a thumbhole stock and 3.5 in cabibility,I shoot the 3.5s and they have a good bit of lick but shooting at a turkey you never feal it,I know a guy who took his son and i think he was 9 years old and the boy missed a turkey and he was shooting 3.5s he said he never even felt the gun go off.
I know exactly what you are talking about. You get so wrapped up in the moment that you forget about the kick!!
