Default RE: Mossberg 935

I was just in the same boat. went to gander mountain and narrowed search down to 1187, stoeger, and 930/935. as I was looking the gunsmith came out of the back. I asked him his opinion, he stated that the 1187 quality is not what it used to be. he estimates that out of every 100, they get 5 back for immediate repair. he said it is still a good gun though and does recommend. I then asked about the 930/935 he said it is just as well made as a remington and does not see very many back. of those that do it is usually a cosmetic issue, such as safety switch breaking etc. he said guys that usually buy those are "heavy use" guys and they beat them up. he said he did recommend that gun highly. I boughy a 930, for $250.00 less that they wanted for the remington. I paid $350 for the synthetic "waterfowl" black version. I have only test fired it and so far so good. also came with a sling!
