A little over a year ago I went through the same delemma, 300wsm or the .270wsm...I settled on a Tikka T3 Lite in.270wsmand itis a dream to shoot. I did a bunch of research on both calibers and decided that the .270wsm was more suited to the game I wish to hunt (whitetails, mulies, elk and caribou). One of the deciding factors was looking at this recoil chart (
http://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm)and saw the difference in recoil between the 2 cartridges...The 270wsm doesn't kick much worse then my .308 that I hunted withfor over25years.
