Okay, I got my ruger single six and took it out the other day and was suprised at how fun it was to shoot. I was also suprised at how quick and easy it was to start shooting somepretty goodgroups at 10 yards and some decent ones at 25 yards from a standing position.
What I was suprised about was that I was hitting consistently high. I burned about 100 rounds through andmygroups wereconsistently 1" high at 10 yards and about 3" high at 25 yards. I started intentionally aiming low and was able to compensate for it at known yardages, but if I ever use it for field use I may not know the exact yardage I'll be shooting.
I've looked around and there are a few options out there but my single six has the fixed sights and I'm not sure what is available for the fixed sight version. I found a part on
www.midwayusa.com that showed it will convert the rear sight to an adjustable sight for $15 is this something I can put on myself?

I also saw a few colored sight kits but they don't look like they would be something that I could use on the single six. Another thought I had was buying some of that high visibility paint and putting a line a fraction of an inch lower on the front sight to use to help line it up.
Any thoughts on the subject?
Thanks, Nathan
