RE: Benelli Nova point of impact
Mine came with shims to change that.
But my SBE did shoot high - Add Tru Glo sights - mine where clamp on - a wedged shim goes under them and I do take them off.
I did not like magnetic and make sure the back ramp ALLOWS YOU TO ADJUST WINDAGE AND ELEVATION. This will solve your problem
This helped me correct that immensely. Allowed me to put the center bottomof the pattern on the base of the birds neck where the feathers stopped and skin started (waddle area). This way the exact dead center of the circular pattern was dead center on the bird's neck. The top dead center was on the head.
Now the main reason for me doing this is it is very easy to see the skin feather region on the neck - gave me a very consistent target.
To do this you need to adjust windage and elevation and is rather easy. I started at 10 yards - using trap loads and trying to punch out a orange quarter sized dot out of white card board. Once I could consistely do that I backed up to 20, 30, 40, did 50 for grins it is there! When I backed up is when I strated using my turkey loads - was less punishing using trap laods to get there. I had the gun centered - I adjusted elevation to slightly drop it to adjust the bottom center - you may not need to.
I used turkey head silloettes on 6x 11.5 paperand only counted pellet holes in the neck vertebra, skull, eye, or juglar. My rule of thumb - 8 to 12 pellets consistently hitting these is your effective killing range.
