I don't think it is appropriate. I think you'd be really sorry if you see a big hog of a deer at 30 yards in unfamiliar landscape. Your range estimate would have to be dead on. The lack of power means you have to should go to a realitively heavy arrwow/broadhead and cut on contact tips. If you were to get a crack at a world class monster and you blew your opportunity or hit it poorly and didn't recover it you would regret it for the rest of your life. Better to have something will some insurance power than to take a risk with something anemic. I think you are kind of suspicious of all this, otherwise why ask?
