Default New land and new to Coyote hunting

This deer season I asked around to see if a friend and I could coyote hunt their land after deer season and a few folks have gotten back to me to say that I can hunt. My buddy has never killed one but has been reading up and actually called one in on other land to another friend and he missed. I have only deer and turkey hunted and I have been reading here and other spots. My question is on new land that how should we go about starting. It is hours away so when we go over we will be hunting and not having that much time to scout. The land owner has seen coyotes and bobcats and foxes. Should we just go in and set up and call and move around after 30 minutes or so. I have seen that folks on this forum only call and then move after 30 minutes if they do not see anything. Like I said I am new to coyote hunting and I am open to any help.
