If you got a Remington 12 guage, then that will work just fine! As Mr. Longbeard said, just go out and get you a turkey choke tube and buy a box of Winchester Turkey load shells or some Federal with flight control wad shells in either #4, #5, or #6 shot. One thing to do is go out and pattern your gun and try and get an idea of what it can do before you actually go out and start shooting at living things. Most likely, the barrel that you have on the gun will work just fine. There is nothing wrong with turkey hunting with a longer barrel, however, some turkey hunters prefer the shorter barrel for added flexability and mobility. I have a 23" barrel on my gun.
