RE: The Crossbow Controversy
Dan O., even though in Ontario, it is legal to hunt with a cross-bow during the archery season, I'm sure you will agree that there are some "hunters" who have purchased/acquired cross-bows just to take advantage of the early archery seasons in this province. I personally know of three who have done this. All three had no prior experience with any type of archery. They just wanted in on the early seasons. Cross-bow was the way to do it. Easy to shoot, not much preparation required. Granted an animal still has to be within range (they think 50 yards is within range). There are always people who will attempt to take advantage of situations and thank goodness they are in the miniority. And folks, I DO NOT hunt with these guys. True archery hunters, including most cross-bow huters, do have the dedication to learn and use their equipment well, and to those hunters, I salute you.
