Default RE: New to the game

Well, turkey hunting is definitely a specialized sport. While you don't need to go out and spend several thousand dollars to get in the game, you need certain things to have success. A good shotgun is certainly one of them. What kind of Remington do you have? If it's an 870 type shotgun then you'll need a choke that'll give you a good tight pattern.

You can spend as much as you want to on a choke. You can go to a sporting goods store and get one for $20 or you can get one of the top-of-the-line chokes for around $70-$80. Then there's the ammo. You'll need to ask the store where you'll be buying them to supply you with a small stool or chair, as you'll need to be seated when they show you how much these precious gems are.Again, the sky's thelimit on ammo. You can get away with ammo that runs from $10 for a box of 10 or you can go all out and get the $140 for a box of 25.

Then there's the clothing and other garments! Man, you don't know what you're getting into! Actually, the first time you hear that ol' tom gobble it'll make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end and you'll be as hooked as you've ever been.Enjoy the ride! Simp
