Eliminating does is a huge mistake IMO.........not needed and actually counter productive to hunting management.
Again JMO.......based on what I have seen first hand........but still just an opinion.
I agree with Atlasman on this issue... Of course each location is different.... But our state has been HAMMERING does for going on 10+ years now......I've seen no improvement on my properties... In fact, the quality of bucks has decreased in some areas that used to be over run with does!
Maybe in nothern climates you have competition for food, but in the south, that is a BS line to get you to buy into the herd reduction program.....
Hell, I've got 15 acres of wheat, peas, and clover that is a foot tall b/c the deer can't eat it all! The ground is covered in acorns over my entire 400 acres b/c there aren't enough deer eat them!
This doe killing business can get out of hand really quick!
