Haha, I'm sure the reason that 95% of people use compounds is because they are just as hard to hunt with as trad bows.
Seriously, with discipline and practice, a person's trad groupsarehalf what their compound groups are for most guys. So if you're comfy with36 yd hunting shots with a compound, you're probably in the18 yd realm practiced with trad bows. That's1,018 sy that you could cover with a compound and 254 sy whichyou could cover with a trad bow, or just 1/4th the area. When a deer does come in, there's no holding back 20# of your 60# bow for a full minute, motionless while it offers a shot. You can probably hold the full 60# of your trad bow for but a few precious seconds before your muscles fatigue badly, which means your draw must be in the immediate presence of the animal, often at a closer range. All of that is part of the welcomed challenge, which is but one aspect in theallure of traditional bows. Again, those not interested or anxious to argue against it probably wouldn't do best to try. But those with piqued interest may indeed discover something they love if they were to try.
