. i have had a bunch of stuff done . looks as good as any store bought gun. although it is durable and does rust proof it will wear if dinged or roughed up. just like the finish on a compound bow only they put a clear coat to make it tougher. if your looking for a tougher finish that you can do at home there is a 2 part coating called duracoat (different company than the dipping company i mentioned)
