I dryfired my old Jennings bow from full draw. It survived thanks to the design of the cam, as this nut (pictured below) was able to slide down the channel and absorb most of the shock. I also dropped this bow out of the tree @ 25', and it survived unscathed. You'd be amazed at how far a compound bow can bounce, when it hits the ground hard enough.
I practically dry-fire my Iron Mace everytime I shoot it: 71# 290 grain arrow (4.08 gpp). Still in one piece. BC - I'd like to hear more about this "embarrassment" by HCA at the ATA show. That comes as news to me.
