I just got a sweet sixteen browning and heard there is an adjustment necessary if I am going to shoot light vs. heavy loads. I really don' t know anything about these guns so pls offer any suggestions of things I might need to know. I plan to use this gun for the first time during a quail hunt this week so I need comments asap. I went to bass pro and purchased some 2 1/2 dram 7 1/2 shot shells. Will they work ok? Do I need to make any adjustments? Anything else?

Also, what is the small lever used for (on left side of receiver)?
