Another thing to keep in mind is that because your Model 7 has a short barrel, there's more powder being burnt after the bullet leaves the muzzle than if it had a longer barrel. The short barrel shouldcontribute tomore noise, less velocity, and the huge fireball you're seing. Longer barrels have less muzzle blast and more velocity, but aren't as handy.
