In all realty the deer the correct mineral and food sources year round in order to grow big mature whitetails. You cant just say ok its June lets start puitting out mineral. You need to provide the source all year round. This is called Supplemental Feeding, which is against the law in most states including Wi. But you can plant food plots and manage them through out the year. But theres more to food plots than just picking the seed. You should have a PH test done so you know what seeds/plants/vegatables grow better in your soil type. Anyone that does any septic work should be able to do a soil test for you or you can get a DIY kit from some places. Do your research and do it right and DO NOT EXPECT results the first year or two. These things take time. I have been researching this for a couple years now and I am now ready to start puttign in my own food plots this spring.
