Default RE: LOAD FOR 45cal

ORIGINAL: oldsmellhound

Indiana,

This is the load I use in my .45:

10mm 200 grain XTP
MMP sabot
80 grains loose 777
Federal primer

I'm sighted in to be dead on at 100 yards. It's maybe 1/2 inch high at 50 yards, and I haven't experimented much past 100 yards, but according to the charts I've looked at, it should only be 5-6 inches low at 150. Past 150 it's going to drop pretty fast.

I've taken 2 deer with this load, both BOOM-flops at around 100 yards.

Hound

Did you recover any of the bullets? Please describe the internal damage if you can.

Anyone else recovered any 10mm/40cal XTP's from deer, please go ahead and chime in
