My wife enjoys the outdoors. She loves to fish, so I take her fishing A LOT in the summer.

She also enjoys deer hunting (rifle) - so I usually take her a day or three.
Consequently, she understands about needing the right equipment.
Being frugal myself, I don't feel the need for many guns, but when it's time to get a different one, she understands and supports me.
No, I wouldn't complain publicly if she didn't.
