The sight & sounds of a big Tom doing it' s courtship ritual is one to behold.
To me it' s been 90% of reason I Turkey hunt.
I' m not going to make a public call on this one,for fear of being " flamed"
The quality of the hunt has always been what I teach my sons and their buddies.Is bagging a bird what makes a hunt successful? I' ve spoke with other' s and even heard " Well I' ve X amount of $$ in this hunting gear and I' m gonna tag something!
Well,I cannot put a dollar value on the time spent in the woods(SHE CAN!) Nor do I expect nature to pay back a debt for money That I' ve spent.
Sure it' s nice to harvest,But the best lessons I' ve learned are from the one' s that GotAway.I would' nt have done it...I' d have missed the " Dance&Drumming" & I' d have to go fish' n too early in the morning after the harvest.LOL
