Well I was out sitting in my deer stand again this A.M. hoping for a nice buck to walk by and one did (I think) only he was missing his antlers. He passes about 18 yards from my stand in a clear shooting lane that I could have easily shot with my bow. This deer was dark and gray and old one and I thought I could tell where the antleres had been. Then another came by (big body, light color, must be younger) had the swagger like walk but no antlers and yes he was only 18 yards away. I didn’t take them as there is no pride in it. I would rather shoot a doe instead. Oh well hope he is bigger next year. I should get another chance, might try and find some new land to hunt.
