There is no mineral supplement or food for deer that is legal in NY right now. They basically took all the guesswork out of it - and made it all illegal in NY 2 years ago.

Costs of foodplots vary widely.

A plot on good soil is fairly cheap to do. You can mow, spray, disk and plant without a whole lot of issue - but if the soil needs Lime and fertilizer (which most will) - its not a cheap proposition.

I say start small - read &learn - than graduateto an acre or two foodplot.

We spend about $1500 planting 10-12 acres. This cost does not include gas, equipment or our time. FOr us - its a bargain.
