what i am saying you would use a shotgun to shoto someone 100 yards away most people tell me not to hunt with one out to 50 or 60

I'd pick a 12 gauge as well in this situation. I could use my AR with a flatop, EoTech, and backup irons though.

Like i said in my last post, a shotgun that's "set up" for buckshot, WILL also shoot slugs. And a shotgun with slugsIS a hundred yard weapon!!
That doesn't mean it's the "perfect" 100 yard weapon, but it will get the job done if needed. Keep in mind that the need for a 100 yard shot is slim at best.... so that makes a shotgun with slugs more than acceptable...
