Default RE: Bore Butter question?

I agree with cma...but, clearly listen to guys like cayugad. He (and some others) have been very generous with help, tips and advice. I am on year 3 of doing what the TC DVD suggested that came with my omega. At the end of sighting in and after the hunting season, I do the same thing: 4-5 wet patches, followed by 2 or 3 dry patches. After that, I run 1 or 2 presaturated BB patches through. So far no rust whatsoever, and based on my "system", I don't see any need for windex treated patches or gun oil storage patches. I only shoot 20-30 rounds per year and this method has worked fine. All BB residue is removed before shooting again and no accuracy problems have resulted. Perhaps one consideration should be the moisture content of your storage area. If your rig is stored in a damp moist basement, then a heavier traditional gun oil coating may be helpful.Otherwise, the recommended light coating of BB on the barrell shouldn't be construed as bad advice.
