I have one of these cameras too, (actually going on my 4th one) I think you are talking about after you put the film in, the letter E comes up? If thats what you are talking about, it means that the film did not load right. When the film is loaded right, you should see a 0 I think. I know on mine, I have always had to push down really hard on the door after I close it, to get the teeth to advance the film.
