Default RE: Effect of gun caliber on moose - Nordic study

Popeye,

I checked the 2007 hunting regulations for moose in Finland and found the following 3 rules on the bullet weight and type:

1. Minimum bullet weight 9 gr and energy > 2,700 Joule. This would translate to a 139 grain min. bullet weight @ speeds of about 2,540 ft/s or above

2. Minimum bullet weight 10 gr and energy > 2,000 Joule. This translates to a 154 grain min. bullet weight @ speed of about 2,070 ft/s or above.

3. The use of FMJ bullets is prohibited.
